We are seeking an Operations Manager who is results-oriented to join our team in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager is responsible for spearheading innovative strategic thinking; managing company resources productively; the training and development of people, and project execution while building a dynamic organization. This position plans and executes the day-to-day operations of Lucky You, ensures workplace safety, and compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. The Operations Manager will set the priorities for production and scheduling, maintain the facility, conduct routine equipment maintenance and repairs, and implement cost control measures and reduce overhead.

The Operations Manager directly supervises production, kitchen, accounting and shipping and inventory roles and serves as the main point of contact with company suppliers, all other employees, clients and government officials.

This role ensures orders are fulfilled on time, on budget and meeting our high-quality specifications in a safe, clean facility with well managed inventory and well-trained employees that make Lucky You a great place to work and the partner of choice for our clients.

Outcomes:
Inventory

  • Create and maintain relationships with our suppliers for best outcomes
  • Oversee inventory levels to limit shortages, over-buys and marking inventory obsolete
  • Work with procurement manager to controls costs by timely ordering, comparing vendors and combining orders for volume discounts
  • Plan inventory purchases for best pricing while balancing cash flow

Production

  • Production schedules created to meet deadlines for inventory, production line and kitchen
  • Set hourly production goals & check with leads to ensure they are met
  • Coordinate with company president on operational issues and promotional activities
  • Plan and direct line sets and measure goal achievement for optimal efficiency, revising production lines when necessary to make production goals.

Employees

  • Conduct 1:1’s weekly with direct reports; Kitchen Lead, Production Line Leads, Shipping/Inventory and Accounting to hold each accountable for their performance goals and mentoring development
  • Project hiring needs for production & post ads and hire/train for seasonal jobs
  • Train New Line Employees
  • Ensure all employee certifications are current where legally required

Facilities/Equipment

  • Schedule maintenance for the entire building and equipment for optimal clean & safe conditions
  • Computer systems, phones and software kept in good working order at all times
  • Minor equipment repairs when needed, research parts or service companies for special projects, including soliciting bids and evaluating best options.
  • Point of contact for alarm company 24/7, provide approval to call police and meet law enforcement on premises
  • Facility is clean and organized and ‘inspection ready’ at all times

Processes

  • Established, documented Standard Operating Procedures are followed to maintain checks and balances and quality assurance
  • New methods implemented with care and only after thoughtful consideration of consequences
  • Suggest updates as needed
  • Ensure Employee Handbook rules and standards are followed
  • Ensure food products produced exactly to our recipes
  • Gifts are packed to meet our high quality standards

Legal Compliance

  • Company business licenses, memberships and certifications current and in legal compliance at all times
  • Employee certifications kept current at all times
  • All laws are obeyed


Education/Experience

  • BA in Business Administration or similar preferred
  • Five years management work experience leading teams of 10 or more employees
  • 7 plus years’ experience in project management
  • Experience with food safety and production lines a major plus

Physical Requirements

  • Can be physically demanding with occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours per day
  • Valid California driver license with clean driving record
