Production Baker Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Bakery Production Supervisor to join our team in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego, CA. This is a full-time position, Mon-Fri, with no weekends or late nights/early mornings required. The ideal candidate will have experience with supervising employees and leading teams. Prior experience with volume baking and equipment is a very big plus. You will make sure our team, supplies and equipment are ready to bake, rattle and roll each day!

Responsibilities
The Bakery Production Supervisor actively participates in production runs and is accountable for directing the efficient and cost-effective operation of our kitchen. This includes activities such as planning production to meet company projected needs, directing, organizing and coordinating teams of
2-8 employees, to include assigning work and production goals. Quality control is a critical responsibility, ensuring all products meet our company standards and our shift production goals. This role is responsible for daily equipment maintenance with occasional troubleshooting as well as the
cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen in adherence with health regulations. The Production Supervisor ensures all safety regulations and good manufacturing practices are followed.

Outcomes
Accurately produce bakery products and chocolate confections to company standards Perform all aspects of bakery production including prep work, baking, cutting, wrapping, clean-up and sanitation
Ensure kitchen staff follows all safety & hygiene protocols in accordance with the Food Safety Plan
Organize and supervise bakery shifts
Check stock levels of ingredients and supplies
Communicate and track hourly production goals and ensure shifts meet productivity and profit goals
Occasionally work with remote technical support to perform onsite maintenance or repairs on ovens, chocolate enrobing line, mixers, metal detector, date coder, horizontal flow wrapper, bag sealer, fire mixer & walk in freezer
Keep walk in freezer organized for easy product counts and accessibility
Coordinate with Operations Manager for production planning
Ensure quality of kitchen products always meets company standards
Train and work alongside kitchen team for all shifts, including assisting with cleaning duties
Lead and motivate kitchen staff to work with attention to detail and to high quality standards
Maintain cleaning and sanitation in compliance with all government health regulations
Inspect and clean equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.

Education/Experience
Food Handlers Card
3-5 years related work experience, including supervisory experience
Certified by the National Restaurant Association in Serv Safe a major plus
Skill Summary
Ability to read and follow recipes
Mechanical aptitude
Strong work ethic, dependable, punctual and professional
Able to delegate and motivate staff to be their best in a team oriented, fast-paced environment
Ability to plan work loads and forecast inventory needs
Ability to perform light mechanical maintenance
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
Perform repetitive tasks and work on your feet for long periods of time
Valid California driver license with clean driving record for occasional local errands
Occasional time in cold temperatures (walk in freezer)

Compensation & Benefits
$28 -$34/hour plus quarterly bonus
Monday – Friday, core hours 8:30 to 5 (No nights or weekends)
